Look, the sun is setting
All of a sudden, it's dusk
The stars are settling in
the night, calm and the moon bright
The day has ended, and you are in my mind
gone, but fragments of what's left still linger
like well-lit shadows
I can feel and hear you
But you are not here
The night is too silent
Echos of your laughter and our conversations are loud in my mind
How can goodbyes feel like beginnings
This I know, we will never be strangers again
Our lives have intertwined
Like the way stars collide
You are impossible to erase
So I watch the shadows dance to the candlelight
Waiting for dawn
to transcend to a new beginning
a new day
